Job Title: Paralegal – Estate & Litigation

Location: South Metro Denver

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal with experience in estate planning, probate, and litigation to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estate law, probate procedures, and the litigation process, with a keen ability to assist attorneys in managing case files, drafting legal documents, and providing support throughout the litigation process. Key Responsibilities:

  • Estate Planning & Probate:

    • Assist with the preparation and review of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
    • Manage probate filings, including the preparation of petitions, inventories, and other court-required documents.
    • Communicate with clients and beneficiaries regarding estate matters, answering questions and providing status updates.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable state laws and regulations regarding estate administration.
  • Litigation Support:

    • Assist attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, including research, discovery, and case preparation.
    • Draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses in estate-related litigation matters.
    • Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and documents for trial preparation.
    • Coordinate depositions, hearings, and trials, including scheduling and document preparation.
  • Client Interaction:

    • Provide excellent client service by maintaining communication with clients regarding case status, document requirements, and upcoming deadlines.
    • Assist clients with document gathering and provide guidance as needed.
  • Document Management & Filing:

    • Maintain accurate and organized records of client files, case notes, and correspondence.
    • Prepare and file court documents, ensuring timely submission in accordance with court rules.
    • Utilize legal software for case management and document preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Paralegal, specifically in estate planning, probate, and/or litigation.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and procedures related to estate planning, probate, and civil litigation.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Paralegal certification (e.g., NALA, NFPA) preferred but not required.
