Job Description:
We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a "jack of all trades," you will be responsible for handling a variety of maintenance tasks within our apartment complex, ensuring that the property is well-maintained and safe for all residents. This position requires someone who can manage everything from plumbing and electrical repairs to HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance. Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct routine inspections of apartment units and common areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure that all maintenance work is completed to safety and quality standards.
- Assist with apartment turnovers, including repairs, painting, and cleaning.
- Maintain and organize maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Work with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services when needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency maintenance services as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with residents by providing excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide range of building systems and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact positively with residents and team members.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards and practices.
- Own reliable transportation and basic tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or certification preferred).
- Previous experience in property or apartment maintenance is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Ability to operate and repair various tools and machinery.
- Experience with apartment turnovers and make-ready processes.
