Job Full Description
We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious Concrete Saw Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating various types of concrete cutting equipment to saw, score, or remove concrete and asphalt in preparation for construction or renovation projects. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and precision are critical in this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Operation of Concrete Saws:
- Safely operate handheld, walk-behind, and ride-on concrete saws, as well as wire saws or wall saws, as needed for the project.
- Perform accurate cuts to specified depths, angles, and dimensions based on project blueprints and requirements.

Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain cutting tools, blades, and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and report the need for repairs or replacements to supervisors.

Site Preparation and Safety:
- Prepare work areas by marking and measuring cutting lines using chalk, string, or laser guides.
- Ensure the worksite is safe and clear of hazards before and during operation.
- Follow all safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as goggles, gloves, and hearing protection.

Material Handling:
- Remove cut sections of concrete or asphalt and prepare surfaces for the next phase of construction.
- Coordinate with other team members to transport and dispose of waste materials properly.

Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, foremen, and other team members to meet deadlines and project specifications.
- Communicate any challenges or delays to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Concrete Saw Operator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with different types of concrete saws, blades, and cutting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project plans.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety protocols and procedures.
- Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy machinery and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification or training in construction equipment operation or concrete cutting.
- Experience with demolition and repair projects.
- Knowledge of concrete pouring and finishing techniques.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged standing, kneeling, and crouching during work hours.
- Comfortable working in noisy, dusty, and outdoor environments.
