We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to assist in leading our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes, and maintaining a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about food, leadership, and creating memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Leadership: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Team Management: Supervise and guide kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to recipes, and high standards of quality.
  • Menu Collaboration: Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients and creative ideas.
  • Quality Control: Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation, maintaining high standards in every dish served.
  • Inventory Management: Help manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Event Support: Assist in planning and executing special events, banquets, and club functions, tailoring the menu to meet specific needs.
  • Staff Training: Provide training and development for kitchen staff, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or country club environment.
  • Culinary Skills: Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment, with a passion for creating high-quality cuisine.
  • Leadership Abilities: Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with staff, management, and club members.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Certification: Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred; Food Safety and Sanitation certification required.
