Job Full Description
We are seeking an experienced Landscape Manager to oversee landscaping operations in a high-end island community in Fort Myers, FL. This full-time, temp-to-perm role involves managing landscape maintenance and enhancement projects while supervising crews and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The Landscape Manager will report directly to the Service Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Service Director in managing a variety of landscaping and maintenance projects while adhering to health and safety standards, quality controls, and environmental regulations.
- Perform and supervise routine landscape maintenance, including mowing, fertilizing, weed control, aeration, trimming, pruning, edging, irrigation system installation and repair, and debris cleanup.
- Oversee landscape enhancement projects such as mulch application, plantings, lawn seeding, and beach improvements. Ensure the proper installation and maintenance of flowers, trees, sod, decorative rock, and other materials.
- Maintain community features including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, and planters.
- Operate and train crews on the safe use of vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, golf carts, tractors, mowers, and other heavy machinery.
- Communicate with homeowners to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project. Relay homeowner feedback to the Service Director.
- Schedule and organize jobs, ensuring adequate resources and materials are available. Obtain cost estimates and provide quotes to customers.
- Maintain accurate daily work logs and report progress to the Service Director. Conduct site inspections for quality control and address issues promptly.
- Manage customer billing and ensure accurate reporting from the crew for invoicing purposes.
- Maintain and repair equipment and tools. Train subordinate staff on proper equipment care and report major repairs to the Service Director.
- Apply chemicals as a licensed operator, including fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides. Train crew members on proper chemical application procedures.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment, conducting regular safety inspections of work sites and equipment.
- Complete projects efficiently while meeting productivity and budget goals. Identify and develop new business opportunities under the guidance of the Service Director.
- Supervise and motivate landscaping staff while coordinating activities of subcontractors. Provide training, mentorship, and performance management.
- Work independently and as part of a team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to work with diverse personalities while maintaining integrity and professionalism.
- Exhibit self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to think quickly and solve problems as they arise.
- Be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by seasonal workloads and project demands.
Qualifications:
- Proven landscaping management experience.
- Proficiency in operating landscape equipment.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
