ERT Coordinator (long-term Contract, $26.42 - $36.47/hr DOE)
Premier manufacturer in Gainesville FL is seeking an Emergency Response Team Coordinator with a strong background in fire brigade/fire service to join their team as a contract employee for a long-term indefinite duration (multi-year). The position will focus on emergency preparedness and response, as well as supporting all on-site associates through the safety training process.
Duties:
- Schedule, develop and deliver training materials, creating tests, updating training matrix, and maintain all associated documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate training with 3rd party providers for quarterly training, annual refresher training, and recruit training. Maintain associated documentation.
- Conduct on-site training drills, including chemical release and response scenarios, site evacuations, and confined space entry rescue.
- Plan and execute events such as joint training drills with local fire rescue teams.
- Schedule 3rd party inspections and tests as required for emergency response equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire truck, fire hoses, and SCBA packs.
- Track ERT and safety inspections and conduct monthly spot audits of ERT inspections. Replace and upgrade equipment as necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with good understanding of science and mathematics
- 3 years' experience in manufacturing environments in ERT or 3-5 years experience in Fire Service (military or civilian)
- Fire Department experience preferred
- HAZMAT incident Commander certification
- HAZWOPER Training
- Capable user of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Physically able to carry up to 25 pounds, sit for extended periods, and climb to elevated heights in outdoor structures
- Experience in industrial emergency response preferred
- OSHA 30-hour training preferred
Position will start in the 26.42 - 36.47/hr range depending upon experience. Position can work part-time Monday - Thursday 8am to 5pm for a total of 32 hours/wk, or full time Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm depending upon preference. Based on safety training schedule, some overtime may be required.
This need is ongoing and long-term (multi-year) and will work as a contract employee at the manufacturing plant, on-site.
