Job Full Description
Job Summary: The Heavy Duty Truck & Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. This role requires a high level of technical skill, physical stamina, and attention to detail to ensure the safety and reliability of all vehicles and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software.
- Perform comprehensive inspections to determine the root cause of problems.
- Develop effective repair plans and execute them efficiently.

Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including engines, transmissions, and other critical components.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet safety and performance standards.

Record Keeping and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and parts (often over 50 pounds).
- Stamina to work long hours, sometimes in uncomfortable positions, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to bend, kneel, squat, and crawl into tight spaces.
- Good vision and hearing for detecting mechanical issues and reading technical manuals.

Education and Experience:

Work Environment:
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, noise, and potentially hazardous situations.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
