Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Customer Service/Dispatcher/Scheduler who is also willing to support our warehouse operations. This hybrid role combines customer service, logistics coordination, and physical labor, including the moving of heavy appliances and goods within our warehouse and delivery areas. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of handling both office-based tasks and physically demanding duties with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Dispatcher Duties:
- Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely, professional assistance.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, deliveries, and service requests, ensuring accurate coordination with customers and team members.
- Dispatch delivery teams and service personnel to jobs, ensuring that all logistics are well-organized and all schedules are adhered to.
- Monitor customer order status and resolve any issues or delays that arise, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and service requests.
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries promptly and efficiently.
Warehouse Duties & Physical Labor:
- Assist with the unloading, organizing, and storage of heavy inventory items, including appliances and furniture.
- Move large, bulky items safely within the warehouse and prepare them for delivery.
- Assist with product assembly or quality checks, as needed.
- Ensure warehouse organization and cleanliness, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
- Support loading and unloading operations for deliveries, including lifting and carrying items as required.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified).
Scheduling & Logistics:
- Coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely dispatch of trucks, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Verify delivery routes and times, optimizing for efficiency and minimal delays.
- Communicate with customers regarding delivery time frames and any potential delays.
- Monitor delivery performance and ensure all shipments are completed on schedule.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree or relevant certifications preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, dispatching, scheduling, or similar roles.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 75 lbs) and perform warehouse tasks.
- Experience with warehouse operations and basic equipment handling (dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite, email, scheduling software).
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience with appliance handling or large product logistics.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This is a physically demanding role requiring standing, lifting, and moving products up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work in both a warehouse setting and an office environment.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on business needs.
- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with customers and staff.
