Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Truck & Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical issues. MUST HAVE YOUR OWN TOOLS!!!!!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and brake maintenance.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, electrical problems, and hydraulic malfunctions using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn components such as engines, transmissions, drive trains, axles, and electrical systems.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work as needed to repair or modify equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed, including parts used and time spent on each job.
  • Follow all safety protocols and ensure that equipment and work areas are clean and organized.
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure that all repairs are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform repairs in the field when necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new equipment technologies, and repair techniques.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Diesel Mechanics or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Truck & Equipment Mechanic (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, including computerized systems, to identify and repair issues.
  • Proficient in welding, fabrication, and other repair techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
