Polyethylene Paper Coating Machine Operator
The Polyethylene Machine Operator runs an extruder to produce polyethylene coated paper, ensuring quality and adhering to safety protocols.
Job Summary:
The Polyethylene Paper Coating Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery used in the production of polyethylene coated paper, ensuring that the products meet quality standards and production schedules are met.
Work Hours:
First Shift - Monday through Thursday 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break. If production schedule warrants, work on Friday is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Set up, operate, and monitor polyethylene extrusion, and other relevant machinery.
- Adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, speed, etc.) to achieve desired product specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials (e.g., polyethylene pellets, paper) into machines.
- Monitor machine performance and identify potential problems or malfunctions.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications.
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Document production data, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality results.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery, such as cleaning and lubrication.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine problems, and report more serious issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in safety training and meetings.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies.
- Ensure that materials are available when needed for production.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment, particularly with polyethylene processing equipment, is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate and troubleshoot machinery, read and interpret technical documentation, and follow safety procedures.
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the operator is regularly required to stand on their feet for extended periods of time. They use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach. The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to safely climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move rolls or machine shafts up to 75 pounds from ground level.
