Quality Control Inspector

 

Job Description:


Inspect all aspects of instrumentation and electro-mechanical systems including:

 

o Commercial / industrial electrical utility systems

o Instrumentation installation and wiring

o PLC, Motor Control, and DCS wiring installations

o Analyzer installation and sample systems tubing / piping

o Enclosures and buildings fabrication:

o Metal fabrication and construction

o Welding

o Painting

o Use of test equipment and participation in customer performance testing.

o Leak testing with various gases and/or other means to verify leak integrity in industrial analyzer systems.

 

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30 pm

Pay $25+ based upon experience

Responsibilities:


• Independently perform in-process & final inspections for the following:

o Metal fabrication and welding

o Electrical (NEC, NFPA, IEC, etc.)

o Control panels (electrical and instrumentation)

o Analyzer systems

o Power terminal torque inspections

o Mechanical inspections (torque, square, level, etc.)

 

• Generating reports for internal and external (customer) use including the following:       

Discrepancy

Corrective action

Non-conformance

 

• Participating in executing the UL labeling program

• Verifying proper document control procedures including project fabrication packages and revision levels on drawings and specifications

• Monitoring the condition of QA department tools and equipment

• Monitoring housekeeping and cleaning

• Overseeing receiving inspections for all Customer Furnished Material (CFM) and special-order parts and material

• Participate and monitor employee safety program

• Conducting employee training for certifications

• Inspecting packaging and shipping of products to customers


Requirements:

• At least 5 years of field experience

• Experience and knowledge in welding technology, fabrication, electrical control panels, and instrumentation systems is preferred but training can be provided if all other requirements are met.

• Must be familiar with blueprints for mechanical, instrumentation and electrical systems and have knowledge of electrical installation requirements and procedures, quality standards for I/E installations, and be comfortable with the interpretation of customer supplied drawings and specifications

• Must be comfortable with the use of computers, iPads, and test equipment, (i.e. multimeters, gauges, measuring devices, etc.), be proficient in Microsoft Office products and be able to learn Procore (project management software)

• Must be comfortable with understanding and executing test procedures, performing pressure testing, powering up electrical and instrumentation systems and powering up and verifying HVAC and ventilation systems. Training is available.

• Must have good knowledge of proper shipping and packaging requirements.
