Quality Control Inspector

 

Overview:

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing inspections on all aspects of instrumentation and electrical control systems and buildings, ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and company quality expectations.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7am to 3:30 pm

Location: Cantonment, Fl. 

Pay: $30+ based upon experience

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-process and final inspections on:

  • Commercial and industrial electrical control and utility systems (NEC, UL, local codes, customer standards, etc.)
  • Instrumentation installations
  • PLC, Motor Control, and DCS wiring installations
  • Analyzer installations and sample system tubing/piping
  • Metal fabrication, welding, painting, and enclosure/building construction
  • Control panels (electrical & instrumentation)
  • Analyzer systems
  • Power terminal torque inspections
  • Mechanical elements (torque, square, level, etc.)

• Use test equipment and participate in customer performance testing.

• Perform leak testing with gases or other methods to verify integrity in industrial analyzer systems.

• Generate reports for internal and customer use, including discrepancies, corrective actions, and nonconformance.

• Support UL labeling program execution.

• Verify proper document control procedures, ensuring correct revision levels on project fabrication packages, drawings, and specifications.

• Monitor QA department tools and equipment condition.

• Oversee receiving inspections for all Customer Furnished Material (CFM) and special-order parts.

• Participate and monitor employee safety programs.

• Inspect packaging and shipping processes to ensure product quality

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of field experience

• Experience and knowledge in welding technology, fabrication, electrical control panels, and instrumentation systems is preferred but training can be provided if all other requirements are met.

• Must be familiar with blueprints for mechanical, instrumentation and electrical systems.

• Understanding of electrical installation requirements and procedures, quality standards for I/E installations, and ability to interpret customer-supplied drawings and specifications.

• Comfortable using computers, iPads, and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, gauges, measuring devices).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office products; ability to learn Procore (project management software).

• Ability to understand and execute test procedures, perform pressure testing, power up electrical/instrumentation systems, and verify HVAC/ventilation systems (training available).

• Knowledge of proper shipping and packaging requirements
