Community Development Project Coordinator
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Community Development Project Coordinator is responsible for completing minor home repair projects and assisting with new construction projects, working in close coordination with the Community Development Department and the Construction Department.
Pay Range: $20 to $25 per hour ($41,600 to $52,000 annualized) plus full benefit package
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM – 4PM with the flexibility to meet after hours and weekend demand

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Home Assessments for Critical Home Repair Projects, including visiting homes to assess and document the repairs needed, determining whether repairs can be completed by client or an outside contractor.
- Develop a scope of work based on home assessment
- Develop a cost estimate based on home assessment
- Interior Home Repairs, including drywall installation and repair, painting, plumbing repairs, installation and maintenance of attic insulation, flooring installation and repair, and other small jobs
- Exterior Home Repairs, exterior property maintenance, lawn mowing and care, deck repair and renovation, painting, vinyl siding installation and repair, fence repair (painting and installation), other small jobs
- Assembly and Accessibility Projects, including installing grab bars, handrails and wheelchair ramps, fans, and other small projects
- Evaluate work completed by sub-contractors
- Work closely with and lead volunteers to complete repair work per volunteer policy & procedures.
- Work on new home construction with the construction team, if needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Residential construction/vast repair knowledge along with the ability to evaluate home repair needs/costs
- Ability to lead groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers
- Well organized and detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective leadership and team building skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organizing, planning, and budgeting skills
- Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Office 365 and BuilderTrend a plus
- Valid Florida Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, safe driving record
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:
- Highschool Degree or GED required
- 5 to 10 years of experience with home construction and home repair projects
- Experience with roofing projects, a plus
- Experience operating power tools
- Strong organization, planning, project management and implementation skills
- Skilled carpenter, setting doors, windows, building decks and ramps
- Ability to work respectfully, courteously and with a positive attitude when dealing with volunteers, staff, home buyers, homeowners, and community partners

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires the physical ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. The ability to see, speak, hear, bend, twist, climb, reach, grasp, and/or hold to complete warehouse and construction site work is also required. This position requires the ability to earn certification and drive a forklift vehicle (if requested). This position requires a valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, reliable transportation, and insurability through our vehicle insurance carrier
