Accounting Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Administrative:
- Coordinate with senior management to achieve goals and solve problems.
- Facilitate the recruitment process for the Accounting Department
- Complete periodic reviews with each member of the department, providing real-time feedback.
- Approve and submit weekly timesheets for department personnel.
- Manage time-off requests.
- Maintain weekly meetings for A/R and A/P to discuss goals and pain-points.
- Encourage participation in office events within department.
- Generate various reports to update senior management when needed.
Financial:
- Assist in the month-end close process.
- Ensure Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable are prepared for month-end close.
- Perform an in-depth financial analysis of the results for each location.
- Participate monthly discussions with Service Managers reviewing their financial results for the month.
- Monitoring of outstanding credit balances on accounts
- Serve as the liaison for external auditors during the financial statement audit.
- Ability to submit weekly payroll, when necessary
- Timely completion and return of Job Action Forms
Tax:
- Oversight of monthly sales tax submissions for Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi
- Timely submission of quarterly tax reports for Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi
- Compliance with Federal tax reporting deadlines
- Complete periodic training for sales tax
- Annual reconciliation of 1099 forms
Treasury:
- Complete daily recording of bank transfers and debit memos
- Manage daily deposits of incoming wires, credit card payments, and checks.
- Approval of payroll payments and wire transfers
- Perform month-end adjusting entries for bank reconciliation.
- Periodic review of cash receipts to ensure accuracy.
- Settle inquiries of outstanding checks for customers and vendors
- Communicate with bank officials when necessary to request documents.
Qualifications
The following qualifications along with individuals previous work experience will be considered by the company when evaluating applicants:
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience in supervising others in Accounting
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance
