Hours: Monday-Friday 8a-5p, Saturday 7a-3:30p 1 hr lunch

Position: Laborer

Description:  Fulfill the identification and processing of products in the Aceros America St. Pete warehouse to support the Lead Laborer in the organization and upkeep of the warehouse facility and generate continuous productivity and customer satisfaction. 

Duties: 

1.       Assist with the loading and unloading customers’ products to support the workflow of the yard according to the Yard Manager.
Activities: 
1.1 Process metals by identifying and sorting products. 
1.2 Directs customer traffic and relays information to the supporting laborers and cashier.

2.       Participates in production activities to maintain warehouse operation.
Activities: 
2.1 Operating the forklift, front loader, and baelor following the Lead Laborer's instruction to process metals for shipment.
2.2 Cleans the work area at the end of production to maintain order in the workplace by sweeping and arranging large boxes of products. 
2.3 Carry out the movement of material to the designated areas of finished material, maintaining adequate order for operation under safety in the facilities.
2.4 Assists in creating inventory logs with the Lead Laborer and Office Supervisor.

3.       Engage with customers in a professional manner to collect and process goods.
Activities:
3.1 Operates the computer kiosk to input customer data such as names, ID, and vehicle information.
3.2 Identifies customer's metals and informs them of the pricing.
3.3 Communicates deductions or special instructions for customer's products with the Lead Laborer and front office staff. 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the identification of risk sources in the workplace and coordinate with their supervisors and the safety and environmental areas to adopt, know and apply control measures.
  • Keep the workplace clean and tidy.
  • Properly use all guards, safety devices and other means provided for your safety and environmental protection.
  • Attend in a mandatory, coordinated and responsible manner to the lectures or training courses on safety, occupational health and environment.
  • Participate in occupational health and safety programs/campaigns/drills that the company promotes and executes.
  • Comply with established work methods, procedures and provisions, to minimize the risks inherent to its activity in terms of safety, occupational health and environment.
  • Report to the area supervisor, any substandard condition or practice of defective equipment or machinery and any source of risk that manifests itself involving worker safety and environmental contamination.
  • Comply with current environmental regulations and the measures/activities related to their process, corresponding to the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) of the approved Environmental Management Instrument (EMI).
