Express Pros is looking to hire an Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EFIS) Journeyman.
An EIFS Journeyman, also known as an Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems Journeyman, is a skilled construction worker who proficiently installs, repairs, and maintains EIFS cladding systems on buildings, including tasks like preparing substrates, applying insulation boards, reinforcing mesh, base coats, and textured finish coats, while adhering to building codes and safety regulations, demonstrating a high level of technical expertise in the application of EIFS materials and techniques.
Key responsibilities of an EIFS Journeyman:
Installation:
-Accurately measure, cut, and install EIFS substrates and insulation boards on building walls.
-Apply adhesive and properly install reinforcing mesh according to specifications.
-Apply base coats and textured finish coats using various application methods.
-Install trims, beads, and flashings to ensure proper water management.
-Perform detailed finishing work including tooling and smoothing of surfaces.
Repair and Maintenance:
-Diagnose and repair EIFS system defects like cracks, water infiltration, and loose components.
-Patching and re-texturing of damaged EIFS areas are performed.
-Replace deteriorated or damaged EIFS components
Technical Skills:
-Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure proper EIFS installation.
-Select and properly use various EIFS materials and application tools.
-Understand and comply with building codes and safety regulations regarding EIFS installation
Physical Requirements:
-Ability to work at heights on scaffolding and ladders
-Manual dexterity to handle tools and materials with precision
-Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
Qualifications for an EIFS Journeyman:
-Completion of a recognized EIFS apprenticeship program
-Proven experience in EIFS installation and repair
-Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Valid license and certifications as required by local regulation
-MUST have your own tools!
