Key Responsibilities:
- Tackle moderately complex accounting tasks alongside the Finance Director, ensuring financial operations run smoothly and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Prepare journal entries, manage fund transfers, and reconcile accounts and ledgers.
- Lead payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
- Perform financial analyses and provide insights to support key business decisions.
- Take charge of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, maintaining accurate records.
- Assist with the implementation of new GASB statements, ensuring compliance and innovation.
- Monitor project funding, validate pay applications, and ensure contract compliance.
- Dive into accounts payable, resolve payment issues, and maintain positive vendor relationships.
- Draft correspondence, contracts, and reports to support organizational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Minimum Associate’s Degree in Accounting (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Experience: 3+ years in accounting; public-sector financial management is a plus!
- Certifications like CPFO, CGFO, CGFM, or CPA are highly desired.
- A valid Florida driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment.
