What You’ll Do:

  • Design and implement landscape architecture plans for diverse projects, from residential developments to parks and urban streetscapes.
  • Prepare comprehensive plans that include planting layouts, irrigation systems, grading, and stormwater management solutions.
  • Work closely with engineers, planners, and surveyors to align landscape designs with project goals.
  • Handle permitting processes, including site plan approvals, right-of-way abandonments, and land development applications.
  • Conduct site visits to analyze conditions such as topography, soil, and environmental factors, ensuring designs are both feasible and sustainable.
  • Develop detailed project budgets, timelines, and specifications for landscape features.
  • Present ideas and plans to clients, stakeholders, and public agencies to gain approvals and build consensus.
  • Oversee projects during the construction phase to ensure design accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Stay informed on trends in urban design, native landscaping, and environmental regulations to bring fresh, relevant ideas to projects.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
  • Licensure as a Registered Landscape Architect (or eligibility to become licensed in Florida).
  • At least 5 years of experience in landscape architecture or urban planning, with a focus on land development and municipal projects.
  • Proficiency in tools like AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Civil 3D is an advantage.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Florida’s plant species, environmental conditions, and local regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting designs and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • A valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel for site visits and meetings.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with public-sector projects and municipal clients.
  • Understanding of South Florida’s development codes and zoning practices.
  • Certification in LEED or SITES sustainability programs.
