Location: Fort Pierce, FL (Onsite)
Hours: 7am-3pm; 3pm-11pm or 11pm-7:30am

Salary: $15-$18/hr


Express Employment Professional is seeking experienced Environmental Services (EVS) Team Members for a local client. The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and infection-free environment within the healthcare facility. Working under the direction of EVS management, this role involves various cleaning duties while respecting patient dignity and adhering to safety protocols. The EVS Team Member plays a vital role in the facilities cleanliness and infection control efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality cleaning services with care for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control policies and all required procedures.
  • Follow safety guidelines for handling chemicals, equipment, and biohazardous materials.
  • Maintain patient rooms, corridors, offices, restrooms, and specialty areas as required.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling contaminated areas.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect for confidentiality while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Assist in general hospital cleanliness during high patient traffic or emergency situations.
  • Report safety hazards and unsafe conditions to supervisor or plant operations immediately.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing.
  • Ensure supplies such as paper towels, soap, and disinfectants are fully stocked.
  • Safely manage trash and linen collection and disposal, ensuring proper segregation.
  • Complete assigned duties within the shift or notify supervisor of any incomplete tasks.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of environmental services experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
    • Effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
    • Adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift objects up to 45 lbs, bend, stretch, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to kneel, push, and pull as part of daily responsibilities.
    • Must be able to work in environments containing bodily fluids, chemicals, and other hazards.

  • Exposure to potentially infectious materials and hazardous chemicals in the cleaning process.
