Position Summary: Management responsibility for the overall success of the hotel, meeting or exceeding planned objectives for revenue and profit, and ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met. Manages assigned areas of the hotel in accordance with company standards to achieve a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality. Provides exemplary performance for staff to follow
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.
- Oversee the following departments/positions: Front Desk, Night Audit, Security, Valet, and Bellhops.
- Responsible for initial interview and selection of front office staff with recommendation submitted to the General Manager.
- Trains new and existing front office employees on the operational requirements, telephone procedures, night audit procedures and daily express check-in/check-out, reservation and emergency procedures.
- Ensures that all employees are aware of the high standards required of the front office and bell staff and that each presents themselves in a professional manner, both in appearance and attitude.
- Maintains control of front office uniforms, ensures that uniforms and name badges are worn and kept in proper condition.
- Participates in all aspects of the Manager on Duty (MOD) program.
- Controls the selling of rooms and rates directly and through the reservation system to obtain maximum occupancy and revenue.
- Assist with the operation of the Front Desk at peak times including the coverage of shifts as needed.
- Monitors HIRO/others to ensure that the hurdle points concur to the rates and availability in systems.
- Balance hotel room inventory daily.
- Bill the no-shows from the previous day. Participates in employee evaluations and improvement.
- Maintains all specified reporting, controlling, and record keeping systems. Including end of shift notes, incident reports, and other paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with at least five years of experience in the field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and hotel software /systems.
- Works well with management, peers and subordinates.
- Strong interpersonal, problem resolution and management skills
