Shift Lead – Express Employment Professionals Southwest

We are looking for a motivated Leader to oversee and assist with daily operations during designated shifts, supervise employees, and ensure product quality standards are met. The Shift Leads' responsibilities include performing and delegating tasks, guiding throughput, ensuring machine operability, and reporting any issues to the manager. To be successful as a Shift Lead, you should be able to manage a small team of people and ensure that all duties are performed accurately. Ultimately, a top Shift Lead should be able to ensure smooth and efficient workflows and maximize throughput.

Monday- Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

May work Some Saturdays

Temp- Perm Position

Sit-Down Forklift Experience Required

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 based on experience

DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Hands on lead position – you will be actively helping drive productivity

· Supervises 1-2 employees and assigns duties

· Monitors team performance and ensures duties are performed efficiently

· Report on any issues that arise during the shift to management

· Ensures compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards

· Ensure PM checks are completed

  • Ensures all equipment, guards, and safety devices are always in place, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
  • Operates powered industrial trucks to transport material to processing areas and to storage areas for shipment
  • Understands daily production schedule and corresponds with mgmt. leads, and coworkers accordingly
  • Performs visual inspection of product quality
  • Monitors equipment and processes, troubleshoots, and repairs or reports problems to management
  • Assists with Material Movers (Line drivers) or other forklift operations when necessary
  • Follows all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) and communicates with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise
  • Keeps equipment and all areas safe, clean, and organized through proper housekeeping
  • Performs other related duties as required

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

· A high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years working forklift experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred)

· Previous experience as a lead or similar role

· Maintenance / machinery experience

· Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details

· Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time

· Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong leadership and organizational skills

· Confident problem-solver

· Team player

· Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position may also require climbing or balancing
