Our client, a major demolition, safety first company, seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate and accurate movement of materials.
Job Type: Direct Hire - You will work directly for our client and not through our staffing firm.
Compensation: $41,600 - $52,000/$20 - $25/hr.
Job Summary: Operate Heavy Equipment. used in demolition projects. This role requires continuous adherence to safety protocols and diligent performance of duties. The operator will monitor workflow and suggest alterations to enhance productivity as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Operating heavy motorized equipment to ensure accurate removal and placement of materials.
- Loading and occasional offloading of rocks, brick, concrete, and other debris and materials with equipment.
- Observing stipulated safety codes, rules, regulations, and policies at all times.
- Communicating with coworkers to elucidate project specifications as needed.
- Reporting all accidents, incidents, and injuries.
- Informing management of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
- Aiding coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
- Providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
- Inspecting, greasing, and conducting overall operational checks on equipment before each use.
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment machinery.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
- Ability to work extended hours in heat and cold, as needed.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check.
- Preferred OSHA 10 and 30 certifications (not required).
