Express seeks a dependable, energetic, well-organized person to fill a Maintenance Mechanic position.
Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Location: North Augusta, SC
Employment Type: Full Time
Key Responsibilities
- Will ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on productions machine.
- Able to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; trouble shooting malfunctions.
- Able to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, etc.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routing preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
- Fabricates repair parts, by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Needs to have the initiative to troubleshoot and respond with minimal guidance.
- Assembly of small components
- Clean work area
- Collaborate with other departments.
- Ensure consistent and quality work product in a timely manner across the entire department.
- Position may require sitting, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, stepping over items, twisting, lifting, reaching, or bending, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions and stooping for periods of time.
- You will consistently be required to use your hands with fine manipulation and use various tools.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent Pass a Background and Drug Screen
- 5+ years of verifiable experience in mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Electrical experience is preferred
- Knowledge with industrial sewing machines is a plus
- Knowledge in RF heat sealers is a plus
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Able to read tape measure
- Occasionally be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow verbal directions and written process instructions.
- Mechanically inclined with good manual capabilities and common sense.
