Job Full Description
Express seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with an extensive knowledge of diesel and heavy equipment mechanics, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of construction equipment. This role requires a high level of physical fitness, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Compensation: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday – 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Drive to job sites to inspect engines and equipment
- Perform services, repairs, and routine maintenance on the construction fleet
- Clean, lubricate, and inspect trucks, bulldozers, excavators, and other heavy equipment
- Clean and service machine attachments such as winches, blades, and side booms
- Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment
- Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts
- Consult with other mechanics on smaller jobs
- Maintain good communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot issues on the job site
- Work after-hours if required
Qualifications
- Certification as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- 2+ years of experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no violations
- Must pass a drug screen and background check (no violent crimes)
- Reliable transportation
- Must have own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Physically fit and able to lift 100+ lbs.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel or heavy equipment mechanics
- Proficiency with diagnostic and lubricating equipment
- Experience with winches, blades, and side booms
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
