Job Overview: The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of guest rooms and public areas within the hotel. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, physical fitness, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively. The Housekeeping Attendant will interact with guests and staff, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable environment for all. This position involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift, and requires a commitment to working weekends and holidays.

Compensation: $12.00 per hour.

Schedule: 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

  • A clean background and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of previous housekeeping experience 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Handle conflict situations professionally.
  • Be well-groomed and conform to the hotel's dress code.
  • Push housekeeping cart up to 75 lbs. several times per shift.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance in guest room areas.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Supervisors or Housekeeping Managers.
  • Be available to address situations requiring immediate attention.
  • Pick up room reports and keys for assigned areas daily, ensuring all keys are signed for.
  • Follow key procedures and do not allow guests into rooms being worked on.
  • Minimize noise in guest room areas at all times.
  • Proceed to the linen room, retrieve the cart, and begin cleaning rooms in your section.
  • Prioritize check-out rooms, unless there is a special request.
  • Respect all "Do Not Disturb" signs and late check-outs; verify with a supervisor before knocking on doors.
  • Clean rooms according to established procedures using the correct chemicals and tools.
  • Tidy up the cart and return it to the linen room at the end of the shift.
  • Follow Lost and Found procedures by placing any found items in a bag with the room number and date noted.
