Job Overview:
We are seeking an detail-oriented and highly organized entry-level Purchasing Planner to join our materials team. The Purchasing Planner will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely availability of materials and supplies to meet production needs. The role involves forecasting demand, planning purchases, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Demand Forecasting & Planning:
Analyze production schedules and sales forecasts to determine material and inventory requirements. Develop purchasing plans to meet operational needs.
• Supplier Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards and timelines.
• Order Placement & Tracking:
Place and monitor orders with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials. Track order status, delivery schedules, and handle discrepancies or delays.
• Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels and adjust purchasing plans accordingly to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
Generate reports on purchasing activity, inventory status, and supplier performance. Use data to drive decisions and suggest improvements in purchasing processes.
• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:
Work closely with production, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with business objectives and operational requirements.
• Cost Management:
Track and report on purchasing costs, aiming to identify opportunities for cost reductions and efficiencies.
• Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ISO and company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and supplier performance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory control, and procurement systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and experience with ERP software (e.g., Oracle).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
