Job Full Description
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring procurement activities align with company objectives. This role is essential for ensuring that the company secures quality products and services while maintaining cost efficiency and meeting project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Sourcing & Selection: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service. Maintain a database of approved suppliers.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers, ensuring the best deals. Draft, review, and manage contracts and purchase orders.
- Purchasing: Process purchase orders, track the delivery of goods/services, and ensure that all items meet the required specifications and standards.
- Inventory & Budget Management: Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs to avoid overstocking or stockouts. Assist in budget planning and monitor spending.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with vendors. Address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about new products, trends, and suppliers. Provide recommendations for improving procurement processes.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards. Maintain accurate records and reports of procurement transactions.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement, including supplier reliability, price fluctuations, and regulatory changes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., finance, logistics, production) to ensure procurement processes support business objectives.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
- Knowledge of contract law and procurement best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving ability and proactive mindset.
- Certifications (Optional but Preferred):
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications (if applicable)
