Job Title: Welder/Door Conversion
Shift/ Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday,7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Training: On-the-job training provided for specific welding equipment and processes.
Compensation: $19/hour (Depending on Experience - DOE) Paid weekly

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Door Conversion Specialist to join our team in Carol Stream, IL. You will be responsible for working with various welding equipment and tools to assist in door conversion processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of safety protocols, experience with hand tools, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety regulations and report unsafe practices to ensure a hazard-free workplace.
- Identify and resolve quality issues; halt production to address any urgent quality concerns.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints related to door conversion projects.
- Use hand tools, drill presses, saws, and welding equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify the handling of frames, doors, and applicable terminology, including frame-identifying numbers and their meaning.
- Work with different types of steel and gauges for door conversion processes.
- Operate and understand CRT (computer program/system) for processing tasks.
- Use and read measuring equipment accurately to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform regular lifting, bending, and twisting tasks, including lifting and team-lifting doors up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain an organized workspace and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience working with welding equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Must have strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Must be physically capable of performing the tasks required, including heavy lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must provide at least two work references with complete contact details.
- Reliable and punctual attendance is a must.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Repeated bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
- Industrial environment with exposure to welding equipment, tools, and production machinery.
