Job Full Description
Summary: Responsible for hauling purchased and internal scrap steel from various areas of the plant to the Furnace Bay or the outside scrap holding area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for operating the scrap truck in a safe and efficient manner.
Knows the different colors of scrap and being able to keep the colors separated.
Hauls into the Furnace Bay the different scraps that the Crane Operator has requested.
Weighs in the purchased steel scrap.
Hauls plate, bushing, special and regular metal scrap.
Wears required safety equipment.
Follows job work instructions and training matrix, where applicable.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write
simple correspondence.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills:
No Computer skills needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
Must have valid driver’s license.
