Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining print, laminate and cutting equipment to produce high-quality print products. This position requires the ability to work on rotating shifts, ensuring the seamless operation of the production process around the clock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate machines to produce materials according to production specifications.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks throughout the production run to ensure materials meet established standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Work with the maintenance team on routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, replacing parts, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Monitor Production: Oversee the production process, ensuring the machine operates efficiently and that print jobs are completed within the scheduled time frame.
- Material Handling: Load and unload paper, inks, and other printing supplies; ensure inventory is stocked and materials are appropriately prepared for production runs.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of job runs, production output, quality control checks, and any issues or adjustments made during the process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other operators, technicians, and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and minimize delays or disruptions.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in print machine operation or a related manufacturing field is preferred, but training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Technical Skills: Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines, solid math skills, ability to read, interpret and follow directions, mechanically inclined
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality and the ability to spot issues with the jobs or equipment early.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve operational problems independently or with minimal supervision.
- Basic Math & Computer Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations for job setup and use computer systems for job tracking and reporting.
Work Environment:
- This position requires the ability to work on a rotating shift schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You will work in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, heat, and occasional chemical fumes. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is provided and must be worn as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with operating high speed machinery
- Knowledge of laminating, coating and print finishing and packaging is advantageous.
