Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Associate and Sit-Down Forklift Operator

Location: Belvidere, IL

Shift: Monday through Friday 7:30a - 4:00p

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 based on experience

Position Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our dynamic team. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient receipt, storage, and shipment of goods. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating a sit-down forklift and be able to handle heavy materials while maintaining a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping & Receiving:

    • Accurately receive and process incoming shipments, checking for damages and discrepancies.
    • Prepare and package items for shipment, ensuring they are properly labeled and documented.
    • Manage and track inventory within the warehouse, ensuring stock levels are updated.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipments and deliveries.

  • Forklift Operation:

    • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move materials within the warehouse.
    • Load and unload products from trucks and transport them to the correct location in the warehouse.
    • Ensure that products are stored in designated areas to optimize space and reduce product damage.
    • Perform routine maintenance checks on the forklift and notify management of any required repairs.

  • Documentation & Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and deliveries.
    • Use warehouse management software to track and log shipments and inventory updates.
    • Ensure all shipping and receiving paperwork is completed in a timely manner.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Perform tasks in accordance with OSHA regulations, ensuring proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
    • Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and ensure that all materials are stored in a safe and orderly manner.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other warehouse team members to meet daily operational goals.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding any issues or concerns.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in a shipping and receiving role.
  • Certification for sit-down forklift operation is required on day one 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to [weight limit] lbs) with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong focus on safety and ability to follow safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of a sit-down forklift for long periods of time.
