Job Full Description
Direct Hire Position.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Repair Technician to join a great company in Sycamore. This role involves repairing and servicing gauges, tachometers, and other electronic equipment sent in by customers. The successful candidate will have expertise in electro-mechanical assembly, troubleshooting analog and digital circuits, and using various electronic instruments. Solid communication skills and proficiency in MS Office are also essential for maintaining documentation and collaborating effectively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:

Repair and calibrate gauges, tachometers, and other electronic instruments sent in by customers, ensuring customer-approved repairs are completed to specification.

Troubleshoot and evaluate issues with analog and digital circuits, including working with PC boards.

Use electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and frequency generators to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Perform electro-mechanical assembly, including soldering and de-soldering of components, as needed for repairs.

Accurately document repairs and maintain detailed service records for each unit.

Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding repair status, technical issues, and potential solutions.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in electronics repair and calibration.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience with electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.

Strong soldering and de-soldering skills, with the ability to work on intricate electronic components.

Knowledge of electronics and the ability to service and calibrate customer-approved repairs.

Familiarity with the use of electronic instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, and frequency generators.

Solid communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with customers and team members professionally.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications:

3 yrs - 5yrs Previous experience in repairing gauges, tachometers, or similar electronic instruments.

Welcomed ; Technical certifications related to electronics or instrumentation (e.g., Electronics Technician certification, etc.).
