Job Description:
We are looking for an Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including trucks, buses, and other heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of diesel engine systems, the ability to perform repairs efficiently, and a passion for keeping vehicles running at optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, fluid checks, and inspections.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and regulatory compliance.
- Use diagnostic tools to assess and troubleshoot engine problems.
- Replace faulty parts, including filters, belts, and exhaust systems.
- Maintain detailed records of service and repairs performed.
- Work with management to ensure equipment downtime is minimized.
- Provide assistance to other team members when necessary.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferably with completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus (for positions requiring road testing or vehicle operation).
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
- ASE certifications (Automotive Service Excellence) are preferred but not required.
