Job Full Description
We are seeking a Field Service Technician for a well-established manufacturing company in Lake Bluff. The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial control products.

- Working Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday with travel to customer sites required
Responsibilities of a Field Service Technician:
- Install fire pump controllers according to manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on product, perform tests to ensure systems comply with safety and quality regulations.
- Diagnose issues, repair/replace damaged components, and troubleshoot electrical or mechanical malfunctions.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs, inspections, and potential upgrades.
- Provide training to facility personnel on basic controller operation and troubleshooting.
- Complete and submit detailed service reports after each site visit. Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications of a Field Service Technician:
- Associate’s Degree in Electronical Engineering or related.
- Strong background and understanding of electromechanical components.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites (generally twice per month with overnight stays).
- Experience working with digital voltmeters, ammeter, oscilloscope, battery load panels, breakdown testers, and basic hand/power tools
