Contact, schedule, and interview homeless candidates for program eligibility to Community Casework Housing Programs.

Identify housing barriers and complete the intake process for accepted clients, ensuring clients are housing ready and searching for/locating safe, affordable permanent housing.

Assist clients in completing rental applications and state/federal entitlement benefit applications, and advocate for them as needed.

Update and maintain client case files, including case notes and program databases, in accordance with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory, licensing, or accrediting bodies.

Participate in community outreach efforts, attend meetings, and present at community events to develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners associated with housing resources.

Establish, maintain, and communicate a list of available Lake County housing opportunities with clients and program case managers at least twice per week.

Maintain a Property Manager/Landlord Contact Log.

Assist clients with creating budgets to cover monthly expenses, address housing barriers, interpret initial unit leases, understand tenant rights and responsibilities, and ensure units are inspection-ready. Advocate for clients to resolve landlord-related issues, assist with utility service hookup and unit furnishing as needed.

Transport clients safely to view potential apartments; operate vehicles safely and obey traffic laws.

Work collaboratively with program case managers to ensure clients are housing ready and rental units comply with funding regulations.
