Senior Quality Assurance Technician – Competitive Pay & Benefits

A local Northbrook company is searching for a Senior Quality Assurance Technician to oversee and support the Quality Assurance function. This role is crucial in maintaining production quality standards, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Quality Assurance Technician will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and various departments to uphold product integrity and customer satisfaction.

 

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan department operations, establish priorities, and ensure efficient quality processes.
  • Inspect inbound finished goods and oversee customer return management related to quality concerns.
  • Utilize quality tools such as Pareto charts, SPC charts, flowcharts, and corrective action methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Conduct product and process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and procedures to perform inspections and testing.
  • Identify and label non-conforming products, coordinating their segregation and recommending dispositions.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting related to quality performance and process improvements.

What We Look for in a Senior Quality Assurance Technician:

  • 3 years of Quality Assurance required in manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Knowledge of RMA and 5 Whys 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and use precision measurement tools effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.
