A local community organization is seeking a housing case manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate tenant rent and process re-examinations.
- Maintain accurate client case files and ensure program compliance with HUD and other regulations.
- Review leases and prepare Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts.
- Conduct housing inspections (annual, complaint, and re-inspections).
- Determine contract rent and allowable rent increases.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Use Microsoft Office and basic accounting skills.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma/vocational school with business courses or a college degree in related fields.
- Five years of public housing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of HUD regulations.
- Strong organizational and clerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic accounting.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License.

- Clerical aptitude, good judgment, tact, and courtesy.
- Skill in using office equipment.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Hours: 8a-5p Monday-Thursday for the first 90 days, then Fridays will be remote
Bilingual is preferred but not required.
