Job Full Description

A local community organization is seeking a housing case manager to join their team. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Calculate tenant rent and process re-examinations.
  • Maintain accurate client case files and ensure program compliance with HUD and other regulations.
  • Review leases and prepare Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts.
  • Conduct housing inspections (annual, complaint, and re-inspections).
  • Determine contract rent and allowable rent increases.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Use Microsoft Office and basic accounting skills.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/vocational school with business courses or a college degree in related fields.
  • Five years of public housing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations.
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic accounting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and climbing stairs.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License.

Special Requirements:

  • Clerical aptitude, good judgment, tact, and courtesy.
  • Skill in using office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
 
Hours: 8a-5p Monday-Thursday for the first 90 days, then Fridays will be remote
 
Bilingual is preferred but not required.
 
$17.10/hour
