Express Employment has partnered with a TOP EMPLOYER in Muncie and is NOW HIRING MIG Welders for a production operation in Delaware County.
This is an exciting job for MIG Welders across all skillsets. Previous training or experience in MIG Welding is required but previous certification is NOT required before you start working.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep work area organized and clean; also respect others’ areas
- Required to be AWS certified through company
- Report to group leader or Plant Manager any quality or non-conforming issues
- Report to group leader or Plant Manager if extra or wrong parts have been issued. Reason will be determined and reported to engineering. Parts will be returned to inventory by number and bin location and corrective action will be made so it will not happen in the future.
- Report any backordered material to group leaders and/or Plant Manager at the earliest convenience
- Provide individual operating supply needs to team leader and/or Plant Manager on the established day for which operating supplies are to be distributed for that department
- Make certain all assemblies meet print specifications; check one’s own work; if not sure, confer with team leader or Foreman
- Welder is responsible for providing and caring for their own basic tools
- Welder is responsible for care and proper use of company tools/equipment assigned or used by each individual
- Work efficiently to meet company expectations
- Participate in team meetings when required
- To know which welding gases are to be used for different welding applications
- Cooperate/communicate with coworkers and management
- Able to follow and understand blueprints with little supervision
- Able to operate overhead cranes and trucks in a safe and efficient manner (certification will be administrated when appropriate training has been completed.)
- Use appropriate fixtures to assemble and weld products if fixtures are available
- Report to group leader or Plant Manager if fixtures are dropped or mishandled so they can be inspected by Engineering and or Plant Manager for any damage
- Know what to do with floor travelers and products when jobs are complete.
- Report finished product to Plant Manager so next duty can be assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- The Welder must have knowledge of welding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and general maintenance. The Welder must have knowledge of blueprints, drawings. The Welder must give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
- The Welder must determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- The Welder must be able to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related
- The Welder is responsible for performing routine maintenance on equipment under his/her control
- The Welder must have the ability to see (visually) details at close range while he is doing his job function.
- The Welder must have the ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of the welding machine.
- The Welder must be able to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- The Welder must be able to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. This does not mean that they need to be involved in solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- The Welder must be able to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
- The Welder must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
