Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Train Mechanic to join our team, specializing in the maintenance and repair of train carts and locomotives. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and hands-on experience in mechanical work. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with at least 1 year of mechanical experience to work on a variety of large-scale equipment in a dynamic environment.
Pay Rate: $18-22 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repair on train carts and locomotives.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring safe and efficient repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain an organized workspace.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding repairs and parts.
Requirements:
- 1 year of mechanical experience (preferably with heavy machinery or transportation systems).
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and solve problems efficiently.
- Basic understanding of automotive and locomotive systems.
