Job Description: A dynamic event rentals business is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to help oversee daily operations, manage event setups, and ensure excellent service for clients. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, highly dependable, flexible, and comfortable leading teams ranging from 2 to 80 people. This role requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons, with increased hours in the summer and reduced hours in the winter.

Pay Rate: $45-55k/yr DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Event Setup & Breakdown: Install and dismantle inflatables and other event rental equipment. Ensure all equipment is in excellent working condition.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and direct event staff, adjusting to team sizes from 2 to 80 people based on event needs.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, ensuring their event needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Hands-On Work: Work alongside the crew during events, both indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions.
  • Logistics & Driving: Transport rental equipment using company vehicles. Must be insurable under company policy.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Adapt to a fluctuating schedule based on event demand, with a heavier workload in the summer.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing large teams.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Mechanically inclined with experience in handling equipment or tools.
  • Proven dependability and flexibility to work non-traditional hours.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large and small crews.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a positive, problem-solving attitude.
