Job Full Description
We have been asked by a premier eyeglass lens manufacturer in Fishers to help them find a Manufacturing Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of optical lenses in a lens manufacturing facility.
This opportunity is a direct hire job opportunity paying $18.00 to $22.00 an hour, depending on experience.
Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What will you do as a Manufacturing Laboratory Technician?
- Operate and maintain machinery involved in the production of optical lenses, including lens edging, finishing, and inspection processes.
- Perform regular quality control tests to ensure lenses meet industry standards and specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance on laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and report any malfunctions for timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, test results, and adjustments made during the manufacturing process.
- Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in the lens manufacturing industry.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers, scientists, and quality assurance professionals, to address production challenges and improve processes.
- Assist in different departments and with shipping and receiving as needed to meet production demands.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues in the production process and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and consumables used in the manufacturing process and coordinate with the Production Manager for timely replenishment.
What qualifications will you have as a Manufacturing Laboratory Technician?
- High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is required. Familiarity with lens manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting laboratory equipment. Knowledge of lens production techniques, machinery, and quality control procedures is a plus.
- Precision and attention to detail to ensure the production of high-quality lenses. Ability to handle delicate lenses.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and report any issues or findings.
- Ability to adapt to changes in production processes, technology, and industry standards.
