Job Full Description
Job Summary:
As a Quality Technician you will work collaboratively and independently within the Supplier Quality Department supporting the manufacturing process. You will assist with maintaining data related to supplier quality, leading the process of returning non-conforming parts to suppliers, maintaining the Supplier Quality lab, coordinating external 3rd party sorts, and other tasks as needed to support Supplier Quality. You will work with a team of managers, engineers, supervisors, technicians, and production employees as you own and manage assigned Supplier Quality projects and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance of all plant electrical and mechanical systems (Lifting equipment certification, Fire exits, extinguishers and sprinklers).
- Manage and maintain the preventative maintenance process.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in
Basic Qualifications:
- Associates degree in manufacturing, engineering, science, or related field or equivalent combination of experience and relevant technical training.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting within quality or manufacturing operations.
- Ability to use equipment such as power and hand tools, micrometers, gauges, fixtures, etc.
- Be proficient in the use of inspection equipment and ability to run basic root cause analysis on quality defects.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and engaged learner.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control Plans, mistake proofing, Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and ISO Quality System processes.
