Job Full Description

A dynamic lumber company seeking is seeking a highly organized and motivated Logistics Coordinator to support Yard and Warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring operational efficiency in alignment with company policies and safety standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Policy & Procedure Personnel:

  • Support Yard and Warehouse Manager with daily routines, including scheduling deliveries and returns.
  • Reinforce adherence to company policies and procedures among truck drivers, yard, and receiving associates.

Safety & Security:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Management to instruct employees on safety protocols, including equipment use and the development of new policies as needed.
  • Ensure that company assets, including inventory, are used appropriately by both customers and employees.

Inventory/Returns:

  • Ensure that all returned materials are documented properly and processed promptly for customer account credits.
  • Coordinate the restocking of returns with the receiving team.

Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance schedule for all yard and company equipment, including trucks, forklifts, and other operational machinery.
  • Maintain a professional appearance of company trucks, both inside and out, and ensure necessary paperwork is available in each vehicle.

Yard Operations:

  • Assist in training new Warehouse and Yard Associates.
  • Aid customers with order processing and returns.
  • Assist drivers in loading merchandise safely to prevent damage.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of inventory item identification.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.

Daily Tasks:

  • Dispatch and assign tasks to Drivers, Warehouse/Yard, and Receiving Personnel.
  • Complete invoicing and customer credit memos.
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure the warehouse and yard are clean and debris-free.
  • Step in to assist with operations when short-staffed, including forklift operation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics, warehouse, or yard operations.
  • Strong understanding of safety and inventory management protocols.
  • Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively
