Job Title: Desktop Support Technician (6-Month Contract)
Pay Rate: $18/hour
Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Onsite position in Lafayette, IN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician for a 6-month contract position. The ideal candidate will provide first and second-level support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, assisting with installations, and maintaining IT systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first/second level IT support, troubleshooting customer issues.
  • Work with third-party vendors to resolve complex AV issues.
  • Maintain timely communication on issue status and resolutions.
  • Document and update tickets for all reported incidents.
  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot Windows OS (XP, 7, 8.1, 10) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Provide basic support for Mac operating systems and Apple users.
  • Troubleshoot printers, computer hardware, and other peripherals.
  • Perform general preventive maintenance on desktops, laptops, and printers.
  • Conduct remedial repairs on various IT equipment.
  • Use diagnostic tools to resolve network connectivity and hardware/software issues.
  • Assist with IT projects and other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in desktop support or IT helpdesk role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of Mac OS and Apple device support.
  • Familiarity with networking, servers, smart devices, and telecom systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
