Receiving & Inventory Control

1st Shift 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m. EST; Mon-Fri

Pay: $18/hr. + Depending on Experience

 

Job Purpose:  Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near the plant, yard or work site and maintains the integrity of the physical and perpetual inventory.

 

Job Requirements:

  • This job has no supervisory requirements.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 1 – 3 months related experience and / or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information customers, clients and other employees of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add and subtract 2-digit numbers and to multiply and divide 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Will be regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.

Job duties:

  • Physical receiving of materials and supplies. This includes the verification of material by part number and quantity against the packing slip provided by the supplier.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments rejecting damaged items and noting shortages. Notify Quality and / or Purchasing Coordinator of these instances.
  • Ensure that all materials and supplies received moved to their correction location in the plant. This should be done the same day the material is received.
  • Inform recipients of shipments as needed.
  • Operates industrial fork truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Receives, stores and controls customer supplied material.
  • Ensures that all materials and supplies are correctly labeled with their part number.
  • Monitors all materials and supplies controlled using the 2-bin system; notifies Purchasing Coordinator as levels become low and parts need to be ordered; keeps areas clean and organized ensuring that all parts are labeled correctly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
