Shipping/Receiving
2nd shift: 2:30pm-11pm CST
Pay: $18/hr.
Performs Mobile Cylinder shipping activities. **MUST HAVE FORKLIFT AND COMPUTER SKILLS**
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming/outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with responsible buyer to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receives material in using the in-house PSO system.
- Creates material move tickets from the PSO system.
- Completes kit and assemblies as required.
- Follows first in-first out inventory practices.
- Assists in PSO ATR department as required.
- Route items to departments and/or storage area per established guidelines.
- Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Determines method of shipment if not noted on pre-printed shipper. Calls and schedules carriers for pick-up.
- Monitors carrier's performance and tariff charges and determines best carriers for the most cost-effective and reliable delivery within established standards.
- Maintains shipping logs and shipping records. Process loss freight or shipping damages claims.
- Prints bar-coded labels when required by customer.
- Prints required shipping paperwork from in-house MRP system.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons. Prepares packing lists, bill of lading, and other shipping documentation as necessary.
- Assembles cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers. Inserts items into containers. Inserts items into containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency in the receiving department.
- Limits access to receiving area by unauthorized individuals.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specification. Assures compliance with workplace safety procedures.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates lift truck or issues hand truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping department to shipping platform.
- Employees must follow all safety rules, report all accidents and unsafe conditions and wear all Personal Protective Equipment
- Each employee is responsible for the housekeeping of his/her work area and should maintain these areas to the highest degree possible

- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems, involving several concrete variables, in standardized situations.
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with arms and hands. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb and balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, & lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Start out as a forklift operator then train on overhead crane, paint gun, air nailing. Forklift, spray guns, & pallet jacks are used. STEEL-TOED BOOTS required.
