Our client in Cedar Rapids, IA is looking for a Roofing Laborer!
Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer / Roofing Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various roofing systems, including Thermoplastic Polyolefin Roofing (TPO), Thermoset Roof Membranes (EPDM), Metal Roofs, Built-Up Roofing, and Modified Bitumen. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Roof Installation: Help with the installation of TPO, EPDM, metal, built-up, and modified bitumen roofing systems by following safety protocols and technical specifications.
- Prepare Job Sites: Assist in preparing job sites by clearing debris, gathering necessary tools and materials, and ensuring the work area is safe and organized.
- Material Handling: Help with the handling and transportation of roofing materials to and from the job site. This includes unloading materials, storing them correctly, and ensuring proper handling.
- Roof Repairs and Maintenance: Assist in performing repairs and routine maintenance on existing roofing systems, including patching, sealing, and replacing damaged sections of roofing.
- Support Crew Members: Work closely with lead roofers and other team members to assist in various roofing tasks and follow instructions to ensure timely and quality work completion.
- Tool Operation: Use and maintain roofing tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and being used safely.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Participate in safety training sessions as needed.
- Clean-Up: Assist in cleaning up the work area at the end of each day, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and the site is left clean.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in roofing or construction is preferred, but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work on ladders and roofs for extended periods of time.
- Attention to Detail: Must be able to follow instructions carefully and assist in installing roofing materials according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
- Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Safety Awareness: A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety guidelines.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
Hours:
- 8am – 4:30pm
- Monday – Friday
