Experienced Carpenter

Location: Dubuque Area

Job Summary: We have teamed up with a reputable company in the Dubuque area that is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities:

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
  • Structural Assistance: Aid supervisors in structural design, planning, layout, and installation tasks.
  • Repair and Installation: Conduct repair work and install doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as needed.
  • Quality Assessment: Evaluate the quality of woodwork and materials to ensure top-notch standards.
  • Tool Operation: Operate various tools, machines, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Regulation Compliance: Adhere to local building codes and health and safety regulations.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Physical Endurance: Stand for extended periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects as required by the job.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or graduation from a vocational school.
  • Proven experience as a carpenter, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Carpentry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of carpentry methods, equipment, materials, and tools, including safety precautions in the construction trades.
  • Interpretation Skills: Ability to interpret and work from sketches, drawings, plans, and construction documents.
  • Instruction Following: Capability to follow both oral and written instructions precisely.
  • Estimating: Proficiency in making and projecting material and labor estimates.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other company employees.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of standard tools and equipment in the trade.
