Job Full Description
Skilled Maintenance
Location: Buhler, Kansas
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in maintenance work with working knowledge of various phases of maintenance
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions
- Licensed driver in the state of Kansas
- Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations
Essential Functions:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, test, and calibrate HVAC equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and respond to emergency calls after regular work hours.
- Ensure all work is performed according to standard practices, design specifications, and building codes.
- Provide response and corrective action for urgent building operational issues to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain complete equipment repair history, work orders, and other related data.
- Serve as a liaison with consultants, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and other departments on maintenance and project work.
- Complete and document work orders prior to submission to supervisor.
- Provide written reports on inspections and tests, making recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain clean and orderly conditions in all work areas.
- Perform general maintenance duties including glass and floor/ceiling tile replacement and door repair.
- Report the need for minor or major repairs to building systems.
- Perform grounds keeping duties such as mowing, trimming, and snow removal.
- Assist with moving, hauling, and rearranging furniture.
- Pick up, haul, and deliver equipment and supplies as needed.
- Use cleaning implements, equipment, machinery, and vehicles provided by the district.
- Assist with sports set-up and tear-down both indoors and outdoors.
- Respond to change and interruptions in a productive and positive manner.
- Operate all equipment and machinery appropriately.
- Serve as a substitute in the custodial department as needed.
- Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with school district members and the community.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to move from place to place and lift up to 60 pounds on a daily basis.
- Work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
- Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of temperatures.
- Work in noisy, crowded environments with numerous interruptions.
- Requires regular attendance and physical presence at the job.
