Digital Press Operator
 
The Digital Press Operator is responsible for setting up print jobs and the overall direction and productivity of the Digital Press Assistants.
Location: Lenexa, KS
 
Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pm
 
Pay: $17 per hour paid weekly
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ability to set-up and run a minimum of two different press types
  • Set up press in accordance with GSP and industry specifications
  • Verify information on work order is correct
  • Make press adjustments as required to ensure quality standards are met
  • Meet or exceed print efficiency standards
  • Monitor Digital Press Assistant for adherence to procedures
  • Communicate technical issues or problems to Digital Manager or Production Managers
  • Complete daily & weekly paperwork as required
  • Strong grasp of GSP’s workflow, processes and procedures
  • Complete maintenance logs and report press downtime as required
  • Maintain cleanliness of press & press area, performing basic machine maintenance
  • Ability to use PMS color matching book & densitometer to measure dot characteristics and colorspace
  • Cross train in a minimum of one other area
  • Work in other areas as needed
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years 4-color process experience preferred
  • Technical knowledge of print & equipment
  • Background in graphic design/photography preferred
  • Mechanical Aptitude
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large workload, while producing quality work in a fast-pace environment with interruptions and deadlines
  • Knowledgeable in basic math, fractions and percentage
  • Ability to pass a basic skills test
  • Ability to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in English
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Available for weekend work shifts & overtime as needed
  • Safety conscious with ability to perform job functions in a safe manner
  • Ability to work alone and under minimal supervision
  • Ability to build effective relationships
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to client and internal problems and challenges
  • Project management skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
  • Ability to contribute to building a strong and positive team spirit as well as align with GSP values
