Job Description
Handles scrap, recyclable, and non-hazardous solid waste generated from the process of building automobiles. The responsibilities of this position include contributing to the Environmental Management System (EMS) performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in the protection of the environment and reduction of pollution from the activities within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows safety guidelines and procedures.
- Follows Resource Management (RM) procedures.
- Participates in team meetings and training.
- Cleans work area according to 5s standards.
- Collects carts/boxes/containers from designated areas and transports to appropriate building for managing.
- Documents cart/box/container pulls on tracking records.
- Assists in other areas as time permits.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet, humid, extreme cold, and extreme heat conditions. The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
The employee will be required to wear protective clothing, gloves, and/or hard hat as specified in the various processes and/or instructions. The employee will also be required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
